Stone Island S/S 2007 Reflective Jacket Sample Nº002
Highly collectible Stone Island reflective jacket from 2007, extremely rare sample article with Nº002 piece number.
This jacket comes from the personal collection of a former Sportswear SPA distributor. Many of the pieces from his collection were samples used for showrooms and collection displays.
Following Osti's approach to reflective garments, Paul Harvey designed this jacket in a very similar fashion to those original reflective Stone Island Marina jackets, featuring entire reflective coating throughout the exterior of the garment using a material different of that developed by 3M, deemed to be "too rigid" by Massimo Osti himself when he first introduced his first completely reflective pieces.
The nature of the coating causes it to crack and fall with use and time contributing to the Stone Island ethos set by Osti of trying to make clothes that felt vintage and ready to wear, and not having the need of "breaking them in".
This wear creates a much desired personal patina that will keep on developing with time and by no means should be regarded as a flaw.
This sample variant has a fixed cotton lining, instead of a zipped, removable one like the one that was released to the public.
Silver grey finish, with a beige, undyed cotton lining.
Size L, fits medium to large / slim large.
